In the evening after dinner, Grand Holidays’ complimentary traditional Lalibela night with Ethiopian Coffee ceremony and traditional dance. O/n the same.

Day 04 – Start trekking

Start the 5 hours trekking from the town of Lalibela to Wedebye (3600 to 3800). En route, visit the 13th century monastry church of Asheten Mariam. O/n Wedebye, camping.

Day 05 – trekking to Abune Yosef

Continue the trek for 4 hours to Abune Yosef (4130 mt). En-route, in addition to the stunning view covered by Afro Alpine types of vegetations you will have the chance to spot endemic mammals like Gelada Baboon and Simen Fox. O/n Abune Yosef, camping.

Day 06.

From Abune Yosef, the third highest pick in the country, we will trek on the plateus of Degosach en route visiting different villages and farmlands. At Yimrha you will visit the 12th Century built up cave church which is very famous for its unique style of construction and interior decorations. From there you will walk down to Arbatu Ensessa to visit the 6th century rock church of Arbatu Ensessa. Your 4WD waits for you here for the drive to Lalibela. O/n Lalibela, Roha Hotel.

Day 07.

Fly back to Addis Ababa. In the afternoon, city tour of Addis Ababa and preparation for the flight back home.
